In this „how to“ guide we will demonstrate how you can search a remote hosts in your network for any files using
our built-in extension search criteria.
Please make sure you have downloaded our ZOLA Remote File Search product from our website to get the latest
version available and install it under administrator rights.

Before we continue make sure you have install and run the ZOLA Remote File Search product.
From the main program view click on the „Scan Wizard“ button and select the „Scan Computer(s)
from Manually Input/Import“ item to continue.
Now write the domain or workgroup name into the Domain/Workgroup field and add remote hosts names into the Computers field. Next click „Add Computers“ button to add them into the program machine queue for processing.
Now we have remote hosts available in the machine queue and are ready to scan them for our new search extension criteria. Click next on the „Scan Now“ button and select „1. Scan Files item." item.
Next we need to create a search criteria rule, click „Add New“ button to create a new search criteria.
Give your new file search criteria a name and select the scanning path e.g.. %win%\System32 will search the entire C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder on each remote hosts available in the machine queue. Our search mask in this guide will be *.ini;*.sys;*.ocx as we are going to find all files with
these extensions. Next select the scanning rules options you want go with and how you want to store the scanning results. Click „Add Item“ button to create and save your search criteria.
The search criteria is now saved and is ready to be processed. Click „Execute Task“ to initialize the remote file search scan on all remote hosts available in machine queue.
The program is now searching remote hosts for available files based on your search criteria.
Remote file search task has completed and now you can view and interact with your search results in a full supported database grid view.
Now lets export the remote file search results into html file. Right click anywhere on the grid view and select the „Export Results“ item and select „Export to HTML“
Give the export file a name and click „Save“ button to continue.
